Certified First Aid Course

As part of our 'SAFETY FIRST' initiative, PAI is organising a 2 day (16 hours) First Aid Certification Workshop at Kamshet on 16-17 April 2016. The workshop will be conducted by St. John Ambulance, Maharashtra Centre (SJA). The 100 years old organisation is the Maharashtra State Centre of The St. John Ambulance Association, India Chapter. Classes are conducted only by Maharashtra Medical Council registered Doctors.

What is First Aid

First Aid is the help given to any person, suffering from any injury or sudden illness, which helps to preserve his life, prevent his condition from deteriorating, and promote his recovery. It is given by any lay person trained as a First Aider, given on the spot, before the arrival of a Doctor or professional medical help.

The Course

The topics covered are:
1). CPR and AED (defibrillator) training
2). Shock (cardio-respiratory failure)
3). Asphyxia and Suffocation
4). Drowning
5). Unconsciousness and coma (Head injury and Stroke)
6). Wounds, Injuries, Bleeding and application of Bandages
7). Fractures, Muscle and Joint injuries
8). Burns
9). Heart Attack
10). Anaphylaxis (Allergic Shock)
11). Poisons [including dog bite, snake bite etc.]
12). Hyper and Hypothermia
13). Transportation of the patient
14). Diabetes, low sugar, alcoholism

Who can participate?

The course is open to all. You don't have to be a PAI member or even a paragliding pilot. We want to educate maximum people in First Aid. This is going to be a great help not only at flying sites, but also in other day to day activities of life.

SJA CertificateCertification

Qualified participants will receive a certificate from St. John Ambulance (India) / Indian Red Cross Society.

Certificate is valid for 3 years.


₹ 2,000/- per person

Covers - 2 day course fee, Training Manual, Bandage and Certification by SJA.
The fee also covers expenses for workshop venue and accessories.
Participants will have to make their own food and travel arrangements.
Tea & water will be provided at the venue.

Participation terms

The SJA requires 30 participants to conduct a course on a location away from their premises. PAI will run this course if we have at least 20 confirmed (registered and paid) participants. To get certified, you will have to attend the entire course on both days. So please be ready to sacrifice your 2 flying days :-)
